Phuket & Singapore 2009 –Day 7 – Resort & Beach

Pictures…

We slept in again today, had breakfast then watched Brendan swim around for a bit – we bought goggles for him yesterday, so hopefully his eyes will start to clear up. We had chips & soft drink on the balcony, it got too sticky for me so I had a quick dip in the spa. We then moved down to lie on the deck chairs & ordered some drinks- Tequila Sunrise this time ( yes it’s happy hour again between 12 &2 ) we were in & out of the pool cooling off.

We ordered Satay Chicken sticks for lunch, Brendan didn’t want any, but as usual when they came out he tasted them, decided he liked them & nearly polished off the lot himself, David went & ordered some more (& more drinks- this time a Barman’s Special- it was a pinkie / orangey colour & you could taste the rum & melon.

Brendan once again smelt the food & came out of the pool for just enough time to eat 1/2. The clouds started to come in & it got even more humid, yes it started to rain, we moved our stuff back up to the court yard & I bought in the clothes I was trying to dry – very difficult with the humidity so high, and continued to watch Brendan swim around – he is like a fish – really likes the water. The rain stopped but there was still  a few thunder rumblings. We agreed – well David went along with me – that we would do a Phi Phi island speedboat tour tomorrow, so I phoned our travel rep, Thip, & she arranged it all for pickup 7.30 in the morning, Brendan was no charge as we were good customers! We finally got Brendan out of the pool & hit the streets for some last minute shopping – no complaints this time.  We walked up towards the beach & stopped to take a few sunset pictures.

After about a million times of saying “no thanks” to Tuk Tuk drivers & shop owners we dumped our purchases at an outside table at a Irish Pub – Molly Malones -baked potato’s with chilli con carne for David & me, Spag Bol for Brendan – didn’t have a lot of taste but was eatable. We walked back to the hotel stopping at various stores buying a few more bits & pieces, as there was a nice breeze & it wasn’t as humid as it has been during the day. On the way back we past a man selling photo’s of you holding a large iguana, then another man with a small monkey, he actually put the monkey on Brendan for about 30 seconds until he realized we weren’t going to agree to pay him, then took him back, Brendan said he felt really fluffy & soft.
